Every Tuesday at Woodville Youth Centre during term time, GAP offers the Chill Out Club where children aged 4-17 can go to an After-school club and engage in craft activities, games and homework help.
We are currently not operating but hope to be up and running in the near future.
Our dedicated team of professional volunteers will help your children achieve their potential, encourage them to do their homework and more importantly promote the values of friendship, fellowship and respect. At the end of everyday, we have a supply of food kindly donated by Greggs the Bakers. The Kids all enjoy tucking into food from Greggs whilst we encourage healthy eating.
Your child can get all these amazing facilities for only £1 per child. That is less than any other Youth Club in South Derbyshire. All the money your child gives to our club goes back into investment in future activities and helping your kids achieve their potential. Children are identified by brightly coloured wristbands, and these wristbands allow your kids access to the club and its facilities.
Our values are the promotion of social fellowship and respect as well encouraging kids in socially deprived areas to achieve their full potential.
I have two kids and I cannot afford £1 per child, can I still come?
Of Course, Negotiate with our understanding treasurer, usually he will reduce the price from £1 per child to £1 for one child and one child free. Three children you will pay £2 and so on.
My Child has trouble with his homework, will you help?
Our skilled volunteers, many of whom have served in the teaching profession, will assist your child with your homework and promote their independent research skills.
Is There an Afterschool snack available?
Our Skilled volunteers provide snacks for the children. The Box Club also open a Tuck Shop, and many of the children usually purchase sweets from there. Finally at the end of the day, Greggs the Bakers delivers their left over food and the children usually tuck into a range of sausage rolls and sandwiches on offer.
What are the Rules and Regulation?
We follow a strict policy of rules and regulation in order to safeguard the club for all children. To this end, we will not tolerate bad behaviour such as swearing, underage drinking, smoking and standing on the furniture. We operate a Traffic Light system for the safety of all, both volunteers and children. We also operate a swear box in order to teach our young members respect.
My Child has disabilities or hidden disabilities, can they still attend?
Our skilled Volunteers are trained to help and assist children with hidden disabilities and promote social engagement.
As a parent, do I have to stay?
You are not required to stay when you drop of your kids. However, if you wish you could join our team of skilled volunteers and help encourage the future of these kids.
